Leading international fashion designer Naeem Khan showcased his Spring 2014 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. His runway showcase was produced by Fly Productions. Heavily inspired by Latin American aesthetics and style, Khan’s collection was a combination of rich, bright colors, lightweight cotton and hand-crocheted lace.

Indeed, the pieces ranged from sizzling scarlet and rosy pink to dramatic black and white, with a few tropical hues in between. With pieces that evoked flamenco dance ensembles and colorful beaded bodices, the collection that was aimed for a “high-powered women” was right on target.

Having dressed the world’s most iconic female personae, including First Lady Michelle Obama, actresses Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette, and songstress Taylor Swift, fashion designer Naeem Khan dominates the couture gown world with his skilled embroidery and designs. In this collection, Khan showcased a very classic Latin theme in his Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

This Naeem Khan dress is a lighter continuation of the previously critiqued gown, with a pastoral feel to it while the long slit in the skirt gives it a very urban and a chic look. The mixture of fitted bodices and relaxed dresses with peasant blouses and flared skirts was unmistakably indicative of Latin influence, “We’ve taken very sophisticated elements from that part of the world, and I’ve created a collection from it,” said the designer.

With his Spring 2014 Collection, Naeem Khan applied an active imagination to create interesting prints for the red and black caftan (pictured above). Depicting a bohemian, casual look Naeem Khan’s caftan features  culture-centric circles and the flower-like prints in red and black, all of which greatly complement the dress with a sleek waistband.
