“Ticket to the Tents” Interview with CZAR by Cesar Galindo Fall 2013

Czar by Cesar Galindo was a bit of a walk on the wild side…in a good way. But what do you expect when the designer partnered with famed rogue taxidermist and AMC’s Immortalized star Beth Beverly and the collection inspiration was the idea “suspended life.”

The collection had a chic red riding hood feel. Models emerged from a simulated wooded forest backdrop dressed in incredibly crisp pieces. Sleek separates ruled the runway. Hooded jackets paired with matching cigarette pants, draped coats with charcoal leggings, slinky dresses paired with bolero jackets or wrist to shoulder length leather gloves and barely there shimmering evening wear.

Though the pieces were beautifully designed and executed, Galindo was right on the money in his partnership with Beverly to bring his vision to life. Hats, headpieces and stoles in golds, purples and navies, brought another more lush level to his designs. Galindo employed a blood red lip, huge sketched lashes and super slicked back hair to complete his hot huntresses. Even one of the jewelry pieces, a necklace of metallic feathers, seemed to purr.

Lana Parrilla also known as the Evil Queen Regina on ABC’s Once Upon a Time watched the show from the front row, which is perfect being that the entire collection was made for an evil queen to don as she went about her dirty work.
