Pamella Roland FW’19: Stained Glass on the Runway

In Daily Reports, Fashion Designers, Fashion Events, Fashion Features, Fashion Week, New York by Julie Stanley

I was very excited to kick off this season of New York Fashion Week with the glamorous Pamella Roland FW’19 runway show at Pier 59 Studios on February 7th at 4pm.  The audience was star-studded with celebrities in attendance like Nigel Barker, Vanessa Williams and Victoria Justice! We’re big fans of Pamella Roland and always look forward to seeing what she’ll send down the runway each season!

Backstage was alive with high energy and a great vibe as the talented style teams prepped the beautiful models. The models had make up artistry by Amway and global makeup artist Rick DiCecca. Hair was styled by Fekkai and nails by Pattie Yankee. Jewelry was supplied by Chopard and music by Javier Peral.

This season’s Pamella Roland FW’19 collection was delightfully colorful and inspired by “Tiffany glass and intricate stained glass windows”, according to the designer. The concept was applied through the use of embroideries, trim, silhouettes and prints. The color palette also told this story with a beautiful mix of jewel tones like sapphire, emerald and ruby with muted, soft pastels like amethyst, antique rose and blush, displaying the “opalescence of Tiffany stained glass”.

The rich and stunning mix of materials such as lace, silk organza, crepe and mikado swept the runway as the models presented the 35 piece collection of gowns. Metallic thread work, crystals and sequins added the perfect sparkle detail. Floral prints and ombres along with 3D floral appliques, pearls, ostrich feathers, beads and linear mixed element embellishments complete this fabulous collection.

A charging ovation filled the room after the final walk. This was a crowd pleaser to say the least and a fantastic way to start a whirlwind week of fashion shows! Pamella’s brand is sold in many high end department stores around the world including Saks Fifth Ave, Nieman Marcus, Nordsrom and Bergdorff Goodman.
