I walked into Spring Studios Gallery II on the morning of Monday September 10th 2018 to see a silver painted NYC street scene in the middle of the runway. A bench, street sign, subway sign and large trash can were all lit up with spotlights, ready for the guests to pose with them. The 38 piece SS’19 Collection from CHOCHENG, titled “The Best of Everything”, was inspired by the classic actresses Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor, Helen Gurly Brown, Natalie Wood, Diana Ross and the Surpremes, and by the famous movies from the 50s and 60s: The Best of Everything, Sex and the Single Girl and That Girl.

CHOCHENG, created by Cho Cho Cheng, is a 100% sustainable woman’s wear brand that uses only materials that are 100% natural, produced in Europe and some exclusive to the brand. The beautiful curved, caped and streamline silhouettes of this collection are dominated by cotton, linen and lace and the soft, delicate color palette consisted of mint, coral, pink, violet, black and white. These garments are complete with details like ribbed ruffles, hand embroidered buttons, detachable capes, hand sewn petals, hand pleated florets, bibs and collars.

Celebrity hair stylist to Gwen Stefani and others, Danilo for Cutler/Redken, provided the models with the perfect 60s style Jackie O hairdos.. Make up was by Beau Nelson for Sigma Beauty, nails by Casey Herman and stylist for the show was Katie Mossman. The cool, silver NYC style set was provided by Paper Mache Monkey and PR and production were brought to you by Shin Advisors andJudith Rice & Associates.

CHOCHENG designs can be found at their 838 Madison Avenue store in New York City and also at their 2nd location which opened in 2015 in Seasons Place, Beijing.
